Charles the 3rd boy! Lutheran Medical Center, Wheat Ridge, Colorado
The Bacher family welcomed their third in boy June of 2018.
Hillary and I have been friends sense we were 13.
Meeting at my first 4H meeting in Berthoud back in 1996/97.
Her mom Nanna, quickly welcoming me into their already large family.
I have lots of memories in Nanna's kitchen. Talking for hours and cooking up dishes for 4H functions.
Hillary was the first women to talk to me about possibly capturing her birth story. Without a super firm plan in pace, I missed her text at 5am. I was sound asleep. In the big hurry to get to the hospital, no one called me. They had 2 boys they had to take care of before heading to Lutheran Medical.
Hillary having progressive labors, barley made it to the hospital in time. She had a quick, no epidural delivery.
When I woke at 7 am I saw the Text "he is here!" SHOOT! I missed it!
(not what I actually said)
My first opportunity and I didn't hear here text. In fact, my phone was on do not disturb mode.
Dang. After a quick call and a big apology, I said I would be down soon.
Hillary's room was perfectly quiet. She was sitting in her oversize comfy bed, cuddling Charles.
She got the Sunflower Suite.
Let me tell you something, Luther Medical has some very nice rooms!
Chris, her husband, had just left to go get her boys and go out to breakfast with her parents. I cherished the quiet time that we had together to just hang out.
In the space of a new baby and the stillness of the morning.
I don't think that we have had a solid conversation in years.
5 kids can put a little space and craziness in life. But we talked as if never missing a beat.
The morning light perfectly kissing his little face
Highlighting his blonde hair
William and Michael approached their mom slowly. Once they saw Charles in her arms, their smiles stretched across their faces. Hillary said "Meet Charles, your little brother"
Once everyone arrived, they all piled in to the bed with mom to get a closer look. Michael clutching his cat.
William slipping his fingers around his little brothers hands.
Nana and Ken came in wither Chris and the rest of the family.
Each parent taking a seat and waiting their turn to hold their lattes grandchild.
Charles making #8
Ken sat in the rocking chair next to the window.
Admiring his new grandson.
I don't think Ken ever thought he was going to get to spoil so many boys!
Again, as I always say. A toddler is the best at pointing out where their new siblings eye is :)
Congratulations Bacher Family. Love you all
